Visiting Pune as a weekend trip is best getaways for every Indian travelers. Well there are much more things that we can see in Pune, and the best part is that the city limits do not spoil the fun of dwelling in the nature. All you need to do is go out.

There are host of destination with 100 km that can be visited on any odd weekend. Here are some of my favourite destinations in and around Pune.

Visiting Pune, the cultural capital of Maharashtra and the second largest city is an important weekend getaways. In the vicinity of the main city places like Kamshet, Lonavala, Mahableshwar Panchgani, Matheran and Sinhagad Fort are very popular for their natural surroundings. The hilly terrains of the region give picturesque gateway from the hustle bustle. These places have lot to offer for any adventurous junkie.

It also centres for Trade and Commerce, Art and Culture, thus attracting over millions of travelers annually. The city is well connected with roads and rails and has an international airport that has excellent connectivity with various cities.

When you are visiting Pune, don’t miss the Restaurant like Vaishali and Cafe Good Luck on Deccan are very popular among the foodies, if one does not plan to eat out at the Hotels. Westin and JW Marriott offer seasonal taste. Other dining options include Marrakesh, Exotica, a quick bite and Mazorin. Koregoan Park is one stop solution for satisfying all kinds of hunger pangs. Kick start in the morning with Bun Maska at Iranian Cafe is something that anyone would love.

So where do you plan to stay while in Pune. A day night stay in JW Marriott would cost Rs 5770  in a deluxe suite while in Sun and Sand would cost approximately Rs 4,607 for the same. The O Hotel has rooms available from Rs 5000 onward. These hotels are in the heart of the city and are equally close to railway station and the airport. Hotels near the airport include Four Points By Sheraton where night stay would cost Rs 8550 and in Westin the rooms are available at Rs 9753. The rooms in business hotel St Laurn are available at the discounted rate of Rs 2605.

If you want to explore the city more than going out in to the nature, then there are some best priced hotels like Arora Towers Hotel on the main shopping centre of the city MG road where one night stay would cost around Rs 2000.

Some historic places in the city are Shaniwar Wada that reflects the great Maharashtra culture, Dagadusheth Halwai Ganapati Temple cannot be missed by any visitor to the city while Raja Dinkar Kelkar Museum is best for any historian. Saras baug, Vishrambaug Wada and Parvati hill all have their own charm and history to unfold. Places like Kamla Nehru Park and Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park are wild life lovers.

There is something in store for everybody in the city. Surely with so many attractions visiting Pune can lead to great weekend trip. But is not about hopping from one place to another, it is also about resting and rejuvenating at places like Empress Garden and Taljai hills. The tour packages offer some of the best hotels in Pune that not only serve the mood but also take care of the budget for the travelers.
