Have you ever try Tawang vacation? Tawang is a small town situated in the North Western part of the state Arunachal Pradesh. It stands approximately 3,048 metres above sea level and trust these words as they say “It is always chilly over there”.

This town is a very interesting and beautiful place to know about and visit. Standing at the highest point of this town, you can see the hills of Tibet on one side and Bhutan on the other.

Tawang is famous for Tawang Monastery which is the largest Buddhist Monastery in India and in the world outside Lhasa. The sixth Dalai Lama was born in Tawang and it is a holy place for all the Tibetan Buddhists.

The Buddhist name of this monastery is Tawang Galden Namgye Lhatse which means, ‘site chosen by the horse is a celestial divine paradise’ and indeed it is. The monastery is surrounded by few residential buildings and the library has many old Buddhist scriptures.

There are many legends that narrate the foundation of this magnificent creation. To know the stories, one must go and pay a visit and see for real.

Keep in mind, every tourist needs an Inner Line Permit to enter Arunachal Pradesh which can be obtained from Assam (Guwahati and Tezpur), Kolkata and New Delhi. Tourists can take reserved cars from Tezpur or a train from Guwahati to Naharlagun and then a car from there on to Tawang.

The place that can give you a fine lodging and food service is Radiance International. Three days stay is enough to see entire Tawang. Radiance International will charge Rs 7,500 for three nights. You can choose your room and book now.

This hotel also gives you a nice view from the rooms and provides free parking area. It is also nearby few restaurants where you would like to taste some lip smacking Tawang Cuisine.

Tawang vacation is incomplete without seeing the snow clad mountains. Tawang receives snowfall every year December to January. So, the best time to visit is March or April because that’s when the spring sets in but the mountains will still be snow caped. That is the beauty of Tawang. The population is approximately 11,000 according to 2011 census.

So it’s a small town with beautiful scenario, various types of flora and fauna and a lot more to learn about the place and people. So book your flight and train, book you room, plan Tawang vacation and lose yourself to it’s beauty. Do not forget to bring a good camera to capture your memory in Tawang.
