Goa is famous for its cultural heritage and some of the best beach vacations in the world.

The land has Portuguese connection for more than 450 years. In Goa you can see the beautiful sandy beaches, a delightful laissez faire attitude, abundant seafood, quant homes and old churches in the Portuguese tradition. Indeed, the search for Paradise with your family ends here!

You can visit Goa any time of the year. But if you ask a Goan, the best time is in the rains. The southwest monsoon winds criss-cross the place and even the Gods make it their favourite dwelling place.

The most popular beaches dot the 7 km line from Sinquerim through Calangute and Baga in the north , and a 25 km stretch in the south comprising Velsao, Uttorda, Colva, Benaulim, Fatrade, Majorda and Cavellosim. Colva has one of the longest uninterrupted stretches of sand, backed by shady palms.

It is the most popular of south Goa’s beaches, and has a busy market square and a number of bars and seafood cafes. Thousands of tourists from the US and UK have enjoyed their beach vacations in Goa, which is cheaper as compared to other Asian Countries.

Bogmalo Beach is safe for swimming and is an ideal family beach with adequate facilities for water sports. Vainguinim has facilities for sailing, wind surfing, water skiing, parasailing, canoeing and scuba diving, as well as motor boats and jet skis for hire.

Baga Beach which is an extension of Calangute is Goa’s most developed beach. It has lots of activity with numerous bars, resorts and shacks and some lively night spots. It hosts a leisurely Saturday flea market-a great alternative to the Wednesday market to nearby Anjuna Beach.

Anjuna Beach has recently replaced Calangute as a haven for backpackets. It is better known for its full moon rave parties and sprawling flea market than for its beach. The popular market held every Wednesday is crowded with hawkers from all over India selling everything from Balinese batik, silver jwellery and papier-mache boxes to Tibetan prayer wheels and desi handicrafts.

Another place where you can enjoy your beach vacations is the Candolim Beach which lies to the south of Calangute, stretches all the way to Fort Aguada. This is a popular beach with speedboats and jet skis. Sinquerim Beach extending up to the rampart of Fort Aguada has three luxury hotels situated on its sands. A few reliable operators offer a range of water sports facilities and boat trips.

To cater to the growing number of visitors, many of these beaches now have shacks serving beer, snacks and seafood, lively flea markets and vendor offering a variety of services from head messages to dolphin watching trips for family travels.

Don’t think, book your flight and enjoy the beach vacations in Goa!
